Tate Barn

One of the major projects the Friends organization took on was the restoration of the historic Tate Barn

Completed just in time for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.  The new Tate Barn will remain a historic landmarks of the Heber valley

Heavy snow damaged the barn beyond repair. Through fund raisers and donations, the new Tate Barn began to take shape.

The Friends of Wasatch organization was founded in 1998. One of the first projects we took on was the restoration of the historic Tate Barn. The barn is one of the few remaining examples of classic wooden barn architecture in northern Utah. It was built in the late 1890s by the Tate family. Over the years it was heavily damaged by fire and by heavy snows. The barn was rebuilt using traditional wooden barn building techniques, and was completed just in time for the 2002 Winter Olympics. It is located near the  Soldier Hollow 2002 Olympic venue. It is now one of the historic landmarks of the heber Valley.
