Event: Avalanche Awareness Event
Time: 1:00:00 PM
Description: 1 – 4 PM come to the avalanche awareness seminar at the Visitor Center. Professionals will present a short documentary film and then we will go outside for a few demonstrations on what your can do if someone is caught in an avalanche.
Event: January Full Moon Snowshoe Hike

Please Note: After 3:00 PM on Friday January 13th please register at the desk in the Visitor Center by 6:30 in order to be ready to leave by 6:50 pm.
Meet at the Wasatch State Park Visitor's Center by 6:30 pm. Hike starts promptly at 7. If you need snow shoes, please arrive early so we can leave right at 7. You can register
online here. If you need to rent snow shoes, please select the option that includes snow shoes so we have enough for everyone. Also, make sure to select the right level of hike.
We still need volunteers to lead and bring up the rear of the Beginner group. We also need volunteers for registration and set up of the hot drinks and snacks for the hikers upon return. Please contact Kathy Donnell if you can help.
There are 3 types of hikes: beginner, intermediate and advanced.
Beginner: 2 mile hike on the golf course with no elevation change
Intermediate: 3 mile loop on Spring pond trail. Elevation change is approximately 300 feet
Advanced: 4 mile loop on Crow's Nest Trail. Elevation change is approximately 600 feet
Event: Winter Festival

Description:
From 10 AM until 2 PM join the second annual Wasatch Mountain State Park Winter Festival at the Visitor Center.
There is a day use fee of $7/car up to 8 people or $4/car for Seniors 62 and over but no charge to rent equipment for 1 hour. Pre-registration for equipment is required. Please call us at 435-654-1791 to reserve a time to use snowshoes or x-country skis.
Learn about 4 fun winter activities and test your skills on snowshoes, x-country skis, snow bikes and snowmobiles. Meet 2 owls to learn about animals’ winter adaptations as well as how to layer your clothes properly to be safe and warm outside. Enjoy hot food from local restaurants.
