Our Mission
To preserve and protect the historical and ecological integrity of Wasatch Mountain State Park through public awareness and education and to promote the development of responsible recreational opportunities and facilities for present and future generations
Volunteer of the Year
Each year The Friends recognizes members who have made significant contributions to the organization by generously giving of their time and talents. Honorees are announced in December at the annual Holiday Party. Members of The Friends, Park Staff and all who use and enjoy Wasatch Mountain State Park thank these volunteers as well as the many others who are the heart of our organization.

1999 Gaylin Latimer- Secretary board member, endless energy and efforts for fundraising events and FOW gatherings
2000 Joe Morgan- Watchdog board member and chairperson for several FOW Golf Scramble fundraisers raising
thousands of dollars
2001 George Hanson- VP board member and fundraising for the restoration of the Tate Barn
2002 Carol Jacobsen- Chairperson for FOW Golf Scramble and Garage Sale Fundraiser
2003 Brian Waller- Board Treasurer and assisting FOW purchase Visitor Center furniture.
2004 Zee Zilonka-for always volunteering whenever and wherever help was needed - Garage sales, clean-up activities,
planting garden, etc.
2004 Ken McConnell- Board member and responsible for the creating and maintaining the first website of The Friends
2005 Marianne Wicks- Membership board member, chairperson for two garage sale fundraisers
2006 Lucille Tuttle- President of board, 9 years of service as liaison for Legacy Foundation
2007 Golf Fundraiser Committee- “Evening in the Country” dinner silent auction fundraiser for building The Huber Grove

2010 Don Taylor Trails board member and hours dedicated to organizing, building and maintaining Wasatch State Park

updated website and for work with Judy Huhn on the first membership brochure for The Friends
Wasatch Mountain State Park, in beautiful Heber Valley, is both a summer and winter destination. The Park has camping, hiking, biking, golfing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and much more.
