To preserve and protect the historical and ecological integrity of Wasatch Mountain State Park through public awareness and education and to promote the development of responsible  recreational opportunities and facilities for present and future generations

Accomplishments

Preserve and Protect the Historical and Ecological Integrity of Wasatch Mountain State Park

  • Helped the Nature Conservancy acquire land in Snake Creek Canyon to preserve it from development
  • Working with local land owners to obtain a right of way for the Interlaken trail
  • Raised money to help maintain Huber Grove...
  • New heating, wiring, paint and repairs for the Huber Grove Building...                 
  • Paid for and Engineer to design the Huber Grove trail
  • Helped fund the Huber Grove trail, a $50 K project
  • Instrumental in raising funds to rebuild the Tate Barn...
  • Paid for equipment to dredge the fishing pond
  • Instigated a recycle program and paid for all recycle bins for golf course clubhouses

Public Awareness and Education

Promote the Development of Responsible Recreational Opportunities and Facilities

  • Purchased Benches and Picnic Tables for Visitor Center open spaces
  • Purchased Pellet Stove for the Yurt
  • Purchased Snowshoes for Visitor Center rental program
  • Purchased new benches and tables for Huber Grove
  • Purchased Fish cleaning table
  • Assist with fishing program by providing funds for new equipment
  • Purchased Corn Dispenser for duck food at the Visitor Center pond
  • Purchased tools for trail maintenance and building program
  • Built the Nature Trail Connector at the campground
  • Continually maintaining and building trails throughout the Park
  • Continually maintaining and updating Visitor Center Landscape
  • Paid for pruning and mulching of historic apple orchard
  • Member volunteers designed, purchased plants, mulched, maintained Visitor Center Garden
  • Paid for Curbing for Visitor Center garden
  • Purchased bicycles for park Rangers
  • Purchased Visitor Center furniture
  • Purchased 13 doggie waste stations, waste disposal bags and signage for program
  • Annually, we support the youth Ski program at Soldier Hollow
  • Annually, we support the Audubon Bird count
